Why Flyover Librarian? Typically, we consider the Midwest States to be flyover territory because we consider what they have to be un-valuable. The culture isn't considered important, the people typical, the geography flat and uninspired. However, I've always been a librarian in Flyover Territory and I've found the area to be anything but bland and commonplace. Even big cities contain their own version of Flyover Territory, called Across the Tracks or the Ghetto. In all these areas libraries are both the source and place for inspiration and community, worthy of a stop.
