TumbleBooks; I got to show the 1st grade classes a.m. how this works; They really enjoyed it especially the "50 Below Zero" one. We talked about how to navigate through and finding a different book, volume controls, etc. The morning class didn't get to get on the computers. (Not charged enough because unplugged over the long break).

Searchasaurus; I thought they were doing the same as 1st; Whoops! (Did TumbleBooks in the computer lab). Wasn't good because the main computer or teacher computer wasn't updated with the Adobe Flashdrive, no sound and it would run/play the book; just assumed it would work. They did get to go to the website and I just monitored and helped them navigate through the site. (A 5th grade teacher asked to trade the cart for the lab-time, otherwise they would have had the cart).

If Searchasaurus link or any are not working try going through kslib.info/kids

Any errors with Adobe Flash can be fixed by using the Chrome Browser.

Couldn't get Searchasaurus to work. I will try the state library next time. They ended up just searching Tumblebooks instead.

unfortunately had trouble with both Searchasaurs and Tumblebooks. Neither the kids or I found them to be very user friendly. Never could find the cartoon "Zip" on Searchasaurus , the kids found it frustrating not to be able to search with more than 1 keyword and having to re-set the lexile level with each navigation was a pain. Tumblebooks does not have a home button on many of their apps, which made it very difficult. Would have just switched to Bookflix, but wasn't logged on.

Searchasaurus is a little confusing for my kiddos too. I think they might think it is similar to searching for books like on bookflix. Maybe I need to be a bit more clear. It also seems that first grade is tiring of Bookflix and Tumblebooks. Is anyone else having this issue?
