2/6/14-3M-Didn't go as expected. Adobe flash not updated on the laptop carts so only 2 students could open articles and we tried tumblebooks and only a few could get the book to play online.

Searchasuarus day 2! Went very well! Students were able to figure out structure of website! The cups worked awesome! Great manipulative! Only thing I think would have made the lesson better would be to have some sort of visual structure.

2-6-14; Searchasaurus; Day 1; They liked the lesson and of course anything on the computer they like. They would forget to choose PDF file instead of full-text file and also forget the lexile needed to be between 200-400; lots of things for little ones to remember.

2-11-14- YES! I agreed to the adobe update and the articles opened!!!! This one went so much better then with my 1st 3rd grade class last week! Glad we found the problem and were able to fix it! 3P's class really seemed to enjoy browsing and reading! 3rd grade did it individually but 2nd grade had to do partners so I had them write down 2 areas they browsed and the name of the article they looked at.

2-13-14 3M Did the cup game today! It went well, I thought it was fun! This class had the trouble with the computers not working last week so they didn't get to use it much so I gave them 2 computers per table and we raced to find where each card went. They could use their shoulder partner and search on the computer to find it before they decided. I had each student take 2 cups, at the end, and I had each table share what they had put in that cup. I had it on the board so we could check. Successful, fun, manipulative activity.

2-13-14; Day 2; Searchasaurus; The kids liked working with the cups; something different, then looking only on the computer. We reviewed how to search from last week, then talked about things they found interesting this week.

2-18-14-3P & 2H- My 3rd grade was unable to use computers due to reformatting so we did a "sneak peek" and looked under each category before they went to their tables to see if they could figure out. Each table shared what they had put in while we looked at it on my computer. Pretty good. 2nd grade had computers to use, 2 per table, and they worked to see which category it would fall under. They struggled with following directions. I tried to break it up into short instructions but they couldn't seem to handle not touching the cups/playing with them while they waited. I will have to discuss that with tomorrows group.

We couldn't do Tumblebooks because the computers were being reimaged so we used the Searchasaurus cups and looked for the items on the little papers with some physical encyclopedias to see if we could find information. They did a good job and seemed to like using the big, fancy books!

2-27-14; 2nd Grade; TumbleBooks; We listened to a story first and they were shown how to navigate between books and the website. They enjoyed it and were excited about doing it themselves.
