1-31-14; LFL Posters on-line; The kids were excited about doing this on-line. I did let them work with a partner if they had last week; They didn't all get finished, but I did get their passwords down if they hadn't completely created a poster. Some had trouble getting their image to show up on their poster, even though they had chosen it from their desktop.

2/3/14- FYI--some of the images my students had chosen did not save as a jpeg file that could be inserted into their poster. If you bring that page up on the screen and then "Duplicate" under File at the top of your page, you can then "save or save as" the new image again and make sure it is a jpeg file in the drop down box that says "Format". It took me most of the morning to figure this out and then try to "resave" some of the images. Hope this helps!!

2/6/14-5B/4P- My smaller 5th grade class got a lot of the peer editing done but not everyone. We had some internet issues when we hit the finish button and we had the image trouble of it not working. My 4th grade class is bigger so very few got to edit. Most actually didn't feel finished. Maybe do 3 days next time. I told them we would have to be done this time and you would look at what they had. Next week we design the library.

2-11-14-5M 4C- My suggestion would be to spend 3 days on this. Most of my students didn't get peer editing done and some didn't get self editing. I had several students that missed the 1st day so they were trying to play catch up. I feel we have a lot of posters with grammar errors. However, they worked hard and seemed to enjoy it.
JUST 3 DAYS next time would probable help!

2-7-14; LFL On-line posters; I believe also; a little more time on this lesson. We talked about editing the poster and making sure they used good grammar, punctuation. A lot of them had trouble getting the picture to load onto the poster and then we ran out of class time. I told them when they had free time in their classroom to come see me and we could hopefully fix the problem. They did seem to like the lesson.

2-13-14-5B & 4P: Today we looked at LFL online to see some of the different themes. I let them have a computer in case they wanted to find something and then design theirs. My 5th and 4th grade classes will probable work on posters or some kind of decoration for book fair next week because some are finished. Those who didn't will continue on.

2-14-14; LFL Peer-Editing; Most students finished their on-line poster, but some still had trouble getting their picture to show up. I think the idea of filling out the peer editing paper was too much for some; maybe overwhelming, since they were having trouble with their pictures already. Some got to the peer-editing though and did turn them in.

5B & 4P...They had a choice to finish or re-do their little free library design. If they were finished they worked on Fiesta themed posters. Option A was information for the week of book fair and option B was for the week of coin wars. I had the info. available on activinspire and they could decorate as long as it contained that info. I provided Fiesta coloring sheets so they could color, cut, and add pictures. Very relaxed day!

2-21-14; LFL Posters (flier diagram); 4th-5th grade.
They were surprised we were going to work on them again; We used the I-pad cart for them to look up their original LFL or a different one. Most of them finished and I collected them.

2/25/14-5M 4C-We reviewed library expectations and finished designing our LFL for the poster contest. When finished they could work on a coin wars or book fair poster to display in the hall for preview week and book fair week.
Went well, most need a little more time next week to do posters....we will see since we have preview/wishlist/voting.

We voted on a theme of posters, finished coin war/book fair posters and made paper flowers for bookfair decorations. Kids really liked it.
